Performing Arts Classes Start This Fall with NJYT
Classes in Musical Theatre, Acting, Voice Lessons and Dance

NJYT’s Performing Arts School (908-233-3200) at 172 West Westfield Avenue in Roselle Park (lot parking available), launched in 1992, is one of New Jersey’s foremost performing arts school offering professional training in acting, musical theatre, ballet, voice, and stage make-up for students age 8 -18. The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation declared in a letter to NJYT: “There are few training opportunities for youth in New Jersey that provide this level of professionalism and rigor in a supportive environment.”

Industry professional teach classes in two 8-week sessions: October 16 – December 5; January 8 – March 13. In acting, the first 8-week session will concentrate on improvisation, monologue selection and development, character development and audition preparation. (The Beginners' I Acting class will also focus on "losing inhibitions" and gaining confidence as a performer.) The second 8-week session will concentrate on scene study and development. In musical theatre, the first 8-week session will concentrate on basic voice production, solo selection, presentation, and interpretation for auditioning and performance. The second 8-week session will focus on musical theatre movement and dance, ensemble work and harmonies. The full brochure is online: www.njyouththeatre.org.
