"We provide a free slice of pizza for each attendee, WPD provides free beverages," he said. "There will be a live band playing Bon Jovi's and E-Street Band's tunes. Meet and greet our new Chief. Open up about our town's safety and security. Get into patrol cars. Meet our Police officers."

That "new" Chief, Christopher Battiloro, said he is looking forward to the event and what he says will be the first of many.

"I am hoping to re-establish relationships with the community. I do not want our police officers to only be known for their law enforcement role in the community I would like for us to be known as people first," Battiloro said. "Pizza with the Police presents an opportunity for us to accomplish that."

Battiloro noted how much Outta Hand Pizza has done for the community in their first year in business, particularly with veterans.

"It only seemed appropriate for us to join forces with them first, but we will be reaching out to other businesses and organizations in town as we begin this community policing initiative and others," Battiloro said.

And when it comes to a favorite slice, Battiloro doesn't hesitate.

"My favorite slice is buffalo chicken," he said. "And Outta Hand has the best buffalo chicken slice around."
