Police Blotter: July 13 - 27, 2012
The following information was obtained from the Westfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

July 13 – Varetta Hayes, 56, of Plainfield, was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop at South and Central Avenues. Hayes was released to a sober adult.
July 18 – Ternice Ramos, 21, of Patterson, was arrested on the strength of a warrant for her arrest issued by Westfield Municipal Court in the amount of $750. Further investigation revealed that Hackensack Municipal Court had also issued a warrant for Ramos' arrest in the amount of $100. Ramos was processed.
Janice Gugljelmi, 45, of Scotch Plains, was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant issued by Fanwood Municipal Court in the amount of $164. Arrest was pursuant to a motor vehicle stop on Mountain Avenue. Gugljelmi was transported to headquarters, processed and released on posted bail.

July 19 – Alfred Robinson, 43, of Orange, was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant for his arrest issued by West Orange Municipal Court in the amount of $200. Robinson was processed and released on his own recognizance.
July 20 – Cheryl Heiss, 44, was arrested on an outstanding criminal warrant issued by Woodbridge Municipal Court in the amount of $1,010. Arrest was pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at Central Avenue and Cedar Street. Heiss was transported to headquarters, processed and turned over to the Woodbridge Police Department.

A resident of the 500 block of Downer Street reported finding a “Rite Edge” pocket knife while attending a movie at Rialto Theatre. The knife was placed in a temporary evidence locker for safekeeping.
July 21 – Gregory Escolastico, Jr., of Jersey City, was arrested on the strength of an outstanding traffic warrant issued by Secaucus Municipal Court in the amount of $500. Arrest was pursuant to an investigation on Elm Street. Escolastico was transported to headquarters, processed and released on his own recognizance as per Secaucus Police Department.
Kristen Ginefra, of Staten Island, N.Y., was arrested on the strength of a traffic warrant issued by Manalapan Municipal Court in the amount of $290. Bail was posted and waiver signed.
July 23 – Jay Beick, 26, of Randolph, was arrested on the strength of a traffic warrant issued by Weehawken Municipal Court in the amount of $89. Beick posted bail.
Roxane Russo, 45, of Scotch Plains, was arrested for eluding police, possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substance) and possession of drug paraphernalia during a stop at North Avenue and Midway in Scotch Plains following a pursuit. Russo posted bail of $1,000 ($10,000 with 10%) and was released.
July 24 – A resident reported a burglary to his vehicle while it was parked on the 600 block of St. Mark’s Avenue. Suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed items totaling $2,150.
July 25 – Ann Masin, 57, of Verona, was arrested for shoplifting from Lord and Taylor. Masin attempted to remove items from the store with a value of $91.99. She was transported to headquarters, processed and released on a summons.
A resident from the 600 block of Hart Street reported being the victim of theft. Unknown suspect or suspects removed the victim’s locked bicycle from the north side of the train station parking lot. The bicycle had an estimated value of $350.
July 26 – Patricia Denby, 19, of Newark, was arrested on the strength of outstanding warrants for her arrest issued by Newark Municipal Court in the amount of $100, Jersey City Municipal Court in the amount of $99, and Vineland Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000. Denby was initially detained for not paying a fee on the train. Denby was turned over to New Jersey Transit police.
Trey Moore, 18, of Vineland, was stopped and arrested for failing to pay a fee and for obstruction of transportation. Moore was detained and turned over to New Jersey Transit police.
A business on the 300 block of W. South Avenue reported being the victim of criminal mischief. Unknown suspect(s) damaged an air conditioning unit causing approximately $900 in damage.
July 27 – Jason Cagle, 28, of Plainfield, was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant issued by North Plainfield Municipal Court. The arrest took place during a motor vehicle stop at North Avenue and Elmer Street. Cagle was transported to Westfield Police Department and released after posting bail.
A resident of the 400 block of Lenox Avenue reported being the victim of criminal mischief. An unknown suspect(s) removed four power blocks from a driveway.
