Power Stretch Studios, home of the Kika Method, will be celebrating its grand opening in Westfield tomorrow, Dec. 5.

The studio, located at 66 Elm Street, is offering a free flexibility test, a free demo session, giveaways and refreshments from noon to 3 p.m.

Throughout her career, she learned all about stretching and soon developed her own style which she has trademarked the Kika Method -- which incorporates stretching through breathing patterns.

“Stretching made myself really flexible,” DuBose said. “People started asking me to help them so I used to stretch people out on the side.”

What started as one client at her location in Montclair, grew quickly to more than 2,000 people. DuBose was getting a lot of clients from Westfield so when the space opened up on Elm Street, it was a no brainer to open up her second location.

At her studio, DuBose can measure people in stretch years.

“I can tell how old you are based on your flexibility,” DuBose said. “Usually people develop a cast of their body through work and their lifestyle and I help them break-free of that cast and feel human again.”

Her method ranges from 45 to 60 minute sessions and are tailored to each individual. Sessions are for everyone as DuBose has clients ranging in age from eight to 85.

All levels of activity are also welcome as DuBose helps professional athletes to the everyday resident.

“It helps increase your range of motion, enhance mental clarity and helps with injury prevention in kids and athletes,” DuBose said.

As part of the grand opening, clients can save 15% on all packages and gift certifcates.
