Prostitution Arrest After Undercover Cop Solicited During Massage In Union County: Police

A joint investigation was started after police received complaints and tips about possible illegal activity.

KENILWORTH, NJ — A prostitution-related arrest was made in Kenilworth after police say an undercover officer was solicited during a massage.

On Thursday, officers from Kenilworth and Union went to AJ Cosmetology at 720 Boulevard after getting complaints and tips about possible illegal activity.

During the investigation, police say Phamela Torres of Newark solicited an undercover officer during a massage appointment.

Torres was charged with prostitution-related charges and released pending an appearance in municipal court

Terry Robert of Edison was also found during the investigation to have an active warrant in a national law enforcement database and was taken into custody on that warrant.

Ronert was remanded to the Middlesex County Jail pending a first appearance in Superior Court.

"The Kenilworth Police Department encourages residents to report suspicious activity and quality-of-life concerns so they can be properly investigated," said police.
