Run 5K, Get Free Pizza In Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ - For nearly two decades the annual Downtown Westfield 5K and Pizza Extravaganza has rewarded runners with piping hot pizza to punctuate a hot summer night and this year is no different.

"Did you know that this event is one of the largest non-corporate 5K races in the state, attracting 2,000 to 2,600 runners and over 6,000 spectators," Mayor Shelley Brindle said.

Any net proceeds from the Downtown Westfield 5K will be earmarked for downtown Westfield streetscape improvements such as new street lights, sidewalks, crosswalks, landscaping and more, organizers said.

• Pre-registration online by July 22

Schedule:

• 5-6:45 p.m. - Tech-Shirt and B-Tag Pick-Up
• 7 p.m. - 5K Race start
• 7 p.m.- Awards and Pizza Party

"Join us for what is always a great evening of running, pizza, prizes, DJ entertainment, and live music," Brindle said.
