School Employee In Union County Is Missing: Have You Seen Brian?
A Rahway resident who works in the Linden public schools has been missing since Tuesday, police say.

UNION COUNTY — Brian Gooney, 55, a paraprofessional employee in the Linden Public Schools and a Rahway resident, has been missing since Tuesday night, the Rahway police said. His school district Tweeted on Friday:
Please help us find one of our Linden Public Schools family who has gone missing. Brian Gooney is a paraprofessional at @SoehlLPS. If you've seen him since Tuesday, please call @RahwayPolice at the number below.#LindenCares #LindenFamily @LindenSupe pic.twitter.com/XbXAArV0Xs

They also posted on Facebook: Please help us find one of our Linden Public Schools family who has gone missing. Brian Gooney is a paraprofessional at Soehl Middle School. If you've seen him since Tuesday, please call Rahway Police Department at the number below. (732-827-2200)
The Police Department said to call either the Rahway Police Department at 732-827-2200, or Det. Tilton at 732-827-2146.

"Lots of prayers," commented a friend on Facebook. "...he loves his job and those kids."
On Monday, the police Tweeted an update, saying he was last seen in Rahway around 9 p.m. wearing dark pants and a long-sleeved shirt.

The Linden public schools went remote starting Friday due to covid cases, after having started hybrid learning just a month ago. Gooney had good-naturedly Tweeted about hybrid learning last month.
A relative of Gooney posted on Twitter on Saturday, "If anyone has seen or has any information regarding my brother-in-law Brian’s whereabouts, please contact the Rahway Police Department. Please...our family is worried sick about him!"
