Shoplifting, Stolen Bike And Tools Taken In Westfield

Police say incidents included a store theft, a stolen bike from a train station lot, and tools taken from a home.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Thefts reported in Westfield last week included a shoplifting incident, a stolen bicycle, and tools taken from outside a home, according to police.

At a business on East North Avenue, about $1,600 worth of merchandise was taken after someone walked in, grabbed items off the shelves, and left without paying.

In a separate incident, a resident said their bicycle was stolen from the Northside Train Station parking lot after the lock holding it in place was cut. The bike had been left there during the day before it went missing.

On Boulevard, tools valued at about $4,000 were taken from the front of a home after someone grabbed them and left the area, according to police.

No arrests or suspect information were immediately available.
