UNION COUNTY, NJ — A recently built shopping center in Union County still has empty storefronts available despite a lineup of national retailers already on site, according to JLL Capital Markets.
The Shops at Legacy Square in Linden is a 93,785-square-foot retail center along the Route 1/9 corridor at 820–860 W. Edgar Road. It is currently about 80 percent leased, which means several spaces are still open for future tenants.
The five-building property was completed in 2021 and includes a mix of food, retail, and service businesses. Nearby tenants include Walmart, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks, Panera Bread, Taco Bell, Wawa, and other national brands, according to JLL Capital Markets.

The center is located along Route 1/9, a major roadway that connects to Interstate 95, Interstate 278, and the Garden State Parkway, with steady daily traffic moving through the area.
The property includes about 580 parking spaces and multiple entry points for customers and deliveries.

Within a five-mile radius, the surrounding area includes more than 460,000 residents, with an average household income of about $116,000, according to JLL Capital Markets.
JLL Capital Markets said the remaining available space is part of the property’s ongoing leasing opportunity, along with its location and tenant mix.
The sellers were Stockbridge Capital Group and Cypress Equities. The buyer was Lamar Companies, along with Real Capital Solutions. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
