Shots Fired Near Home In Union County

No injuries were reported after gunfire struck a residence blocks from where officers responded, according to investigators.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — Detectives in Linden are investigating a shooting that occurred late Friday night and left a home damaged by gunfire, though no injuries were reported, according to authorities.

Police said officers responded around 11:40 p.m. on June 5 to a report of shots fired near a home on E. 12th Street in the area of South Wood Avenue.

According to initial information, unknown suspects fired multiple shots in the area. Authorities said a home oN Woodlawn Avenue, located several blocks away from the initial location, was struck by gunfire.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Investigators said they do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence, and at this time there is no known threat to the general public.
