Smoking Ban, New Parking Regulation Vote Tuesday In Westfield
The public hearings set for Tuesday night's Mayor and Council meeting will be the last chance for residents to weigh in before the vote.

WESTFIELD, NJ - Those who want to maintain their right to smoke outside in public will have a chance to speak Tuesday as the Mayor and Council will be holding a public hearing on the topic before voting on an a resolution banning it.
According to the meeting agenda, a resolution amending general ordinance 2121 would ban smoking from certain public events like AddamsFest, FestiFall and jazz nights. There is already an existing ban on smoking in public parks.
According to officials, the ban would include electronic smoking devices.

Also on the agenda is an ordinance to amend Chapter 13, Motor Vehicles and Traffic. The vote is to regulate parking on South Euclid near Lenox Avenue as well as repeal and update parking regulations in the wake of the lot 7 improvements.
Mayor Shelley Brindle encouraged residents to attend.

"Interested in seeing your local government at work? Please come to tomorrow’s Town Council meeting," Brindle posted on Facebook.
The meeting is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Westfield Town Hall, located at 425 East Broad Street. It can also be viewed on Facebook Live.
