So Clean, It's Scary: Haunted Car Wash Returns To Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ — Get your car clean, if you dare — because young Union County actors are again prowling a Westfield business in their best costumes for a Halloween Car Wash.

Team Car Wash and Play Theater are partnering up for a third year of suds-soaked scares and fun with guests at the car wash (215 South Avenue East). The Halloween Car Wash is open on the following dates: Oct. 20, 21, 26, 27, 28, and 29.

A $25 entry fee includes the "Works Wash" and "lots of spooky fun." Tickets are available for purchase on-site. Local vendors will also be rotating in, including The Southern Affair Food Truck, Mohammed’s Ice Cream Truck and The Greek Donut Bar.

Play Theater, a performing arts program for kids in Union County, said 13 teenage actors from nearby towns will be in masks and costumes — and though the masks pictured above look creepy, there are silly experiences advertised along with the spooky ones.

Carloads will listen to Halloween-themed audio as they interact with characters on the line, and "leave with a clean car and memories to last through the fall."

The young actors in costume are: William Bevensee, Isabella Burdick, Jada Carter-McCummings, Gabriel Chacon, Kayla Fiore, Nicole Gordon, Liam Greten, Nicolas Hernandez, Kiera Hoey, Willa Maurette, Michael Perez, Ethan Roosevelt, and Kai Tavis.

Play Theater Director Amy Fiore said the theater was "thrilled" with the response over the past two years — 505 cars in the first year, and 565 cars in 2022.

"Even adults who chose the spooky experience were really scared," said Fiore. "We are so fortunate to be in Westfield, a town that really embraces the Halloween season!”
