Storm Severely Damages Westfield Station Cafe: Videos
The cafe located on South Avenue West will be closed until further notice.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Rain poured in through the roof of the Westfield Station Cafe on Wednesday night causing severe damages and forcing the business to close until further notice.
The cafe at 339 South Avenue West notified customers around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday following the thunderstorm, which brought heavy downpours and gusty winds.
Westfield Police Sgt. Michael Walsh said there was a call for service on a report of a Fire Alarm at the building.

"It appears that the sections of buildings on West South/Summit had multiple roof leaks resulting in water leaking into the buildings," said Walsh.
Ceiling panels can be seen hanging and a tarp was draped over the breakfast counter area.

The damage prompted Westfield and Fire departments to respond.
"We are not accepting donations right now, but may consider doing so soon as having our cafe closed for any amount of time is detrimental to our family," Westfield station cafe told Patch.
