A 19-year-old New Jersey man was recently killed after he slammed into a police car at 70 miles per hour, police said.
A 19-year-old New Jersey man was recently killed after he slammed into a police car at 70 miles per hour, police said.
Israel Velasquez Cruz rear-ended the car of an on-duty officer at East Second Street and Watchung Avenue in Plainfield around 9:25 p.m. on Christmas Eve, according to nj.com. The police officer was brought to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with injuries and was later released.
The news of the accident was published Wednesday, more than a week after the tragedy.

Cruse hit the officers' car stopped at a red light about a block from the Plainfield train station, and empty alcohol containers were found in Cruz's car soon afterward.
