A video captured a New Jersey woman who was seriously hurt when she fell into a sidewalk cellar while texting.

A video captured a New Jersey woman who was seriously hurt when she fell into a sidewalk cellar while texting.

The 67-year-old woman dropped 6 feet down the stairs and into a basement in Plainfield, according to NBC4 New York. She was distracted by her phone as she approached the open access door at Acme Windows.

Passersby reach out to help her, but she was already mid-fall and then disappeared into the hole, according to the report. Martin Delgadillo told News4 was standing outside his barbershop on Somerset Street just before noon when he saw the woman plunge through the access door.

"She was looking at her phone — the last minute — she hit the door and fell right in," Delgadillo said.

The video shows the woman in a stretcher carried away by paramedics and firefighters. Here is the video:
