The Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club Posts Strong Results at Area Meet

Thirty-eight athletes from the Flyers Track Club were among the over 700 athletes that participated in the NJ Striders Track Meet at Hackensack High School on April 21, 2013.

The Flyers had 29 top-10 finishes and set 11 team records. 

Below is a listing of all the athletes who finished in the top three in their events: 

Girls’ Youth Division: Isabella DeSimone who finished 1st in the 100m hurdles and 3rd in the 400m dash; Cindy Qiang who finished 2^nd in the 1500m run; Emily Wilson who finished 2^nd in the 100m hurdles; and Melissa Endy who finished 1^st in the 1500m race walk and 3^rd in the 1500m run in the girl’s Youth Division.

Girls’ Bantam Division: Iris Brody who finished 1^st in the long jump and Grace Endy who finished 1^st in the 1500m race walk and 2^nd in the long jump.

Boys’ Bantam Division: Branden Stryker who finished 1^st in the long jump and Matthew Ackerman who finished second in the 1500m race walk.

Boys’ Midget Division: Michael Fuccillo who finished 2^nd in the long jump.

Boys’ Youth Division: Thomas Whitehead who finished third in the 1500m run.

The Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club is a USATF certified club that serves over 600 athletes throughout the year.  The current Spring Track season lasts until May 17^th.  The next track meet will be at Paramus on April 28^th.
