The Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Has 25 Top 10 Finishes at Area Meet

Thirty-three athletes from the Flyers Track Club were among the over 700 athletes that participated in the NJ Striders Track Meet at Paramus High School on April 28, 2013.

The Flyers had 25 top-10 finishes and set 6 team records.  

Below is a listing of all the athletes who placed in the top five in their events:

Girls Youth Division: Isabella DeSimone placed 3rd in the 800m dash and 4th in the 200m dash; Melissa Endy placed 1^st in the 1500m race walk; Cindy Qiang placed 5th in the 3000m run

Girls Midget Division: Liana Moricz placed 5^th in the 3000m run; Alvia Scott placed 3^rd in the long jump

Girls Bantam Division: Grace Endy placed 1^st in the 1500m race walk and 3^nd in the long jump

Boys Bantam Division: William McGlynn placed 4^th in the 800m dash; Braden Stryker placed 3rd in the long jump and 2^nd in the Shot Put

Boys Midget Division: Zachary Spergel placed 4^th in the 3000m run

Boys Youth Division: Thomas Whitehead placed first in the 3000m run

Boys Intermediate Division: Ryan VanBenschoten placed second in the 200m hurdles

The Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club is a USATF certified club that serves over 600 athletes throughout the year.  The current Spring Track season lasts until May 17^th.

The next Flyers track meet will be at Fair Lawn High School on May 5th.
