3-Year-Old Drowns In Family Pool In Union County: Police

HILLSIDE, NJ — Authorities are investigating after a 3-year-old drowned in a family swimming pool on Monday night, Hillside Police told Patch.

The incident occurred at a home on Elmer Place in Hillside and appears to be accidental, according to Hillside Police Det. Sgt. Natalie Ogonowski.

Further details weren't available as of Wednesday afternoon, and Ogonowski said the matter is an open investigation.

Lauren Farinas, a public information officer at the Union County Prosecutor's Office, told Patch that Hillside Police are the lead investigating agency on the incident.
