Tornado Watch In Effect For Union County

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Union County and the surrounding area until 10 p.m. tonight, Friday July 1.

The watch is also in effect for Bergen, Passaic, Essex and Hudson counties.

"There is a chance for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening," according to NWS. "The main threat is damaging winds. There is a small chance for large hail and isolated tornadoes."
