TV Series Filming In Downtown Westfield Thursday

'Emergence' is setting up shop on Elm Street.

WESTFIELD, NJ - A little but of Hollywood magic is coming to Westfield Thursday as a portion of the pilot for a new show called "Emergence" is set to film downtown, according to Councilman David Contract.

"Something cool is happening this Thursday downtown," Contract posted on Facebook. "ABC Studios is filming a TV pilot for a new show called 'Emergence' from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. They have chosen Westfield as one of their filming locations for a few exterior and interior scenes in the new pilot."

Contract said that the location chosen is the storefront at 120 Elm Street, across Addams Tavern, which will be transformed into the local police station for the show.

"The town has worked closely with ABC Studios to minimize any travel or parking impacts," Contract said.

According to the blurb on Deadline, ABC Studios’ “Emergence" hails from writers and executive producers Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters. The project is described as a character-driven genre thriller that centers around a sheriff who takes in a young child that she finds near the site of a mysterious accident who has no memory of what has happened. The investigation draws her into a conspiracy larger than she ever imagined, and the child’s identity is at the center of it all.
