Twice Excetional (2E): The Myth of the Lazy, Gifted Student

Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 7:30PM

Come join the Westfield Special Education Community for an evening of education on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 7:30pm, at Edison Intermediate School, 2nd Floor, Library, 800 Rahway Ave, Westfield, NJ.

Our guest speaker, Jacqui Byrne will discuss the characteristics and challenges of the Twice Exceptional (2E) student. 2E students have a combination of gifted abilities and other areas that require intervention. Frequently labeled as lazy underachievers, these students often have learning, anxiety and attention issues that go undiagnosed. Jacqui will also discuss accommodations parents and teachers can implement to minimize frustration and maximize growth, achievement and available resources for 2E students.
