Union County Alleged Girlfriend Murderer Arrested: Prosecutor

A Union County man was arrested for killing his Jersey City girlfriend last week after his car was found at a hotel in Newark: Prosecutor

HILLSIDE, NJ — A Union County man has been arrested for killing his girlfriend last week, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Friday.

Emmanuel Dike, 22, of Hillside is charged with a single count of first-degree murder in connection with the death of 20-year-old Christa Capers of Jersey City.

Capers was found unresponsive in an apartment on the 1500 block of Schley Street on Oct. 20, according to the investigation.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dike was arrested Thursday after a Hillside police officer found Dike's car at a hotel on Routes 1&9 in Newark.

Bail for Dike was set at $1 million by state Superior Court Judge Frederic R. McDaniel. Dike could face 30 years to life in state prison.
