Union County Couple Wins Jersey Cash 5 Jackpot

ELIZABETH, NJ — Linda Almeida-Maia and her husband Marcio of Elizabeth hit the jackpot by numbers that represent significant dates in his family's life.

Marcio was on his way to work when he stopped at a local Dunkin Donuts to check the lottery numbers from May the May 24 drawing. That's when he realized his ticket matched all of the numbers drawn.

He tried calling Linda but she already driving to work and didn't pick up. After six repeated phone call, Linda answered and Marcio shared the great news. Linda immediately turned around and together they went directly to lottery headquarters to claim their $795,370 jackpot win.

Marcio has had small wins over the year but nothing like this. The family will be looking for a home to call their own with the prize winnings.

Marcio's ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven #23789 on 954 S. Elmora Ave. in Elizabeth.
