VIDEO: Burger Palace Celebrates Grand Opening Monday

Opening in the former home of 25 Burgers, the new eatery offers take-out and curbside delivery as well as table service.

Mohamed Helal has been in the burger business since high school, Now, more than three decades later, he's opening his own place, Burger Palace, at 251 North Ave. West, on Monday, April 16.

The casual, family-friendly restaurant will start serving breakfast daily at 7 a.m. and will also offer lunch and dinner. Helal, who has worked in the area for several years, said he saw the ad for the business on Craigslist and decided to give it go.

"I came, I looked at the place and I liked the area very well," said Helal, who noted that he has spent the past two months remodeling and updating the space.

Since it is located next to the train station, Helal said he thought it would be a good idea to offer breakfast and to-go items. But the real draw of the place, according to the owner, is its burgers.

"We have a variey of burgers, we have the Palace burger, which is our speciality," he explained. "It comes with mustard, relish, ketchup and mayonnaise. We also a Mexican burger for whoever likes the spicy stuff. We a turkey burger and a veggie burger also. We have fries and you can top them with your choice of cheese or bacon."

Helal said other items sure to be popular are the Burger Palace's milk shakes and malts. The dessert menu features traditional favorites such as brownies, sundaes, and apple pie.

The restaurant is also available for children's birthday parties. Prices on the kids' menu range from $3.99 to $5.49.

"Our team, our cooks, our servers, everyone can't wait until Monday for everyone to come in and try us," Helal said.
