Do you know who you are voting for? Watch this video on the four candidates running for a spot on the Westfield Board of Education.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Get to know who is running for the Westfield Board of Education by watching them speak and answer questions about the candidacy on a video of the Candidates Night held at the recent board meeting.
Four candidates are running for three three-year terms on the board on election day, Nov. 8.
The candidates vying for a seat for the 2017-2020 term are incumbents Brendan Galligan and Ginny Leiz and newly appointed member Amy Root. Root was appointed in June to fill a vacated seat by Mitch Slater.

Newcomer Michael Bielen is also vying for a seat.
William Harmer and Anthony Pericolo, who previously were running, have withdrawn their bid.

To help residents make a decision the Board of Education held a Board of Education Candidates Night, on Nov. 2 in the Westfield High School auditorium.
The evening was moderated by a member of the League of Women Voters and candidates were asked a variety of questions which were gathered from the public prior to the evening.
Each candidate had two minutes to make a brief opening statement and two minutes to make a closing statement. Response time for questions was one and one half minutes.

The video will also be aired on WHS-TV36 on Saturday, Nov. 5 and Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m.; and on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
