Vigil For 'DREAMers' To Be Held At Lance's Westfield Office
A vigil will be held on Thursday night at Congressman Leonard Lance's Westfield Office in support of the "clean Dream Act."

WESTFIELD, NJ — A vigil will be held on Thursday night at Congressman Leonard Lance's Westfield Office in support of "DREAMers" and the "clean Dream Act."
The act would replace Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which was rescinded by President Donald Trump in September. Trump gave Congress a six-month window to come up with a replacement.
This new act would offer protections for DACA recipients.

"DREAMers will not be used as hostages or bargaining chips to implement an extremist, white supremacist agenda. Our young people deserve a path to citizenship without criminalizing other immigrant communities and further militarizing our borders. It's time to raise our voices!" according to Make the Road New Jersey and NJ7 Forward.
The vigil is just one of the efforts being made through Oct. 20 by DACA supporters during a "Week of Action." The vigil will be held at 7 p.m. at Congressman Leonard Lance's office, 425 North Ave E., Westfield.
