Westfield Baseball League Presents 'Buddy Ball'

The Bambino Buddy Ball Division was established by Base Ruth Baseball as a program for children with special needs.

WESTFIELD BASEBALL LEAGUE PRESENTS BUDDY BALL

Opening Day will be May 4th 2013.
Registration for the Buddy Ball Division spring season is now open. Join us for a Meet & Greet on April 20th at 2pm on Gumbert Field #3*. Parents and kids are welcome.

THE PROGRAM

Practices and games will be held Saturdays between 5 – 7 pm (games will be approximately 1 hour, full schedule to be published once final registration is completed). The season will run for 6 weeks through June 22nd. There will be no games on May 11th (Mother’s Day week-end) or on May 25th (Memorial Day week-end). Games will be held in Westfield on Gumbert field 3*.

ABOUT BUDDY BALL

The Bambino Buddy Ball Division was established by Base Ruth Baseball as a program for children with special needs. It provides children with the opportunity to enjoy and participate in sports, particularly the social structure and fun of playing baseball. Today, more than 30,000 players participate in a Buddy Ball type league nationwide. The most fundamental goal of Buddy Ball is to give everyone a chance to play.

ELIGIBILITY

Boys and girls ages 5-20 with special needs residing in Westfield, NJ are eligible to participate.

VOLUNTEERS

Westfield Baseball League also seeks Managers, Coaches, Buddies, other volunteers, and sponsors who may be interested in assisting the League in staging the Buddy Ball Division.

* Directions to Gumpert Field: Make the second left onto North Chestnut. Take North Chestnut until the end (pass the Westfield Tennis Club). Make a left and a VERY quick right onto South Chestnut. Stay right at the fork. You will hit the baseball fields approx. 1/2 mile after the fork.
