Westfield Couple Offers a Way to Chill Away the Pain
Chill Cyrotherapy opens in Westfield

Westfield, NJ -- It may be warm outside but Julie Shanebrook is asking locals to chill out.
Literally.
Shanebrook, who just opened Chill Cyrotherapy in Westfield, is inviting locals to step inside a minus-200 Fahrenheit degree chamber, to chill away any aches and pains in minutes.

“It’s great all around in helping people,” said Shanebrook. “I see the difference after people come in. I see it in their eyes. I see a metamorphosis in people.”
Shanebrook, a Westfield native, was turned on to Cyrotherapy by a physician who was treating her for a herniated disc in her back.

“I tried all of these medications and it wasn’t working,” Shanebrook said.
She tried Cryotherarpy and slowly the pain went away until now, when her pain is completely gone. That’s when she opened her Westfield location with her husband, Joshua Wein in November.
Cryotherapy is a three-minute treatment that has been used for more than 40 years in Europe to accelerate healing, reduce inflammation and pain, boost metabolism and weight loss and to reverse the signs of aging.
Along with helping people with pain or illness, Shanebrook also helps healthy people and athletes.
“It helps maximize and enhance their performance,” Shanebrook said. “It gives them more enegy and endurance.”
Cryotherapy also offers weight loss benefits. Shanebrook said a three-minute session will burn about 500 to 800 calories.
“It doesn’t burn it in the session, but throughout the day. When your body is reheating itself,” said Shanebrook, whose husband Wein, lost 10 pounds using this. “It boosts your metabolism as well.”
Some may be hesitant to expose themselves to such a cold degree, but Shanebrook describes the feeling as numbing rather than the harsh cold you feel outside. The difference is that Cyrotherapy removes the humidity from the air.
Additionally either Shanebrook or another cryotechnician stays with a client during the session to ensure they are comfortable and safe.
The treatment can be applied to the whole body and facials are offered as well.
Other benefits include tightening of skin to be effective on cellulite; reducing insomnia; helping with anxiety, diabetes, depression, dementia, alzheimer’s disease; increasing focus and mental cognition; help with arthritis, lupus or lyme disease and more.
Chill Cryotherapy is located at 327 South Avenue West in Westfield. For more information or to book an appointment call 908-228-5711 or email at info@chillcryo.net or visit www.chillcryo.net.
