Westfield Day Care Center Makes Historic 50 Year Move To New Location

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield Day Care Center(WDCC), one of New Jersey's oldest non-for-profit childcare facilities. is moving to a new location.

WDCC will be moving to its new location at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 229 Cowperthwaite Place at the end of June.

WDCC had been located at the Presbyterian Church on Mountain Avenue since the 1970’s, making the move quite historic for the school and the families it serves.

Founded in 1968, the National Association for the Education of Young Children(NAEYC) Accredited Early Childhood Educational Facility is one of New Jersey’s oldest not-for-profit childcare facilities, which provides programs for kids ages 2.5 to Kindergarten.

WDCC is a private, non-denominational, inter-racial, not-for-profit corporation governed by a Board of Trustees and licensed by the State of New Jersey. WDCC is also a Grow NJ Kids star-rated center, which helps families identify high-quality early childhood programs in the state.

Spots are available for new families to start in the Summer or Fall of 2024.

"We believe children learn through play and meaningful interactions within their environment. Our curricula and philosophy focus on all areas of a child’s development such as, Social/Emotional, Cognitive and Physical Development. We follow the HighScope curriculum in our Toddler through Pre-K classrooms. Our Kindergarten follows the approved curriculum of the Westfield, NJ school system," according to WDCC.

The Center is open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuition includes a breakfast snack, hot lunch, and an afternoon snack, and all Enrichment Programs (Stretch-n-grow, Music, Spanish, Little Gym "on wheels").
