Westfield Election Guide 2017: Where To Vote, Candidate List

WESTFIELD, NJ — Tuesday is Election Day. We have compiled a list of all of the candidates running on the local and county level and also a list of polling locations.

Locally there is a contested race in Westfield for mayor and council seats

Westfield:

In Westfield the mayor seat is up for grabs with two candidates running. Republican incumbent Andrew K. Skibitsky is facing off against democrat Michelle W. Brindle for the four-year seat.

On the council side all four wards are contested. All for four wards have one four-year seat available.

For the 1st ward candidates include republicans Linda S. Habgood and incumbent Sam Della Fera. For the 2nd ward candidates include newcomers democrat Michael J. Dardia and republican James J. Corcoran.

For the 3rd ward candidates include republican incumbent David Oliveira and democratic newcomer David M. Contract. For the 4th ward candidates include republican incumbent Keith Loughlin and newcomers democrat Dawn Mackey and independent Valerio Bruscianelli.

Union County Sheriff:

There are two candidates vying for one three-year seat as Union County Sheriff. Current sheriff Joseph Cryan is not running for re-election.

Newcoming candidates include democrat Peter Corvelli of Kenilworth and republican Marc A. Krauss of Springfield.

Union County Freeholder:

On the county level, six candidates vying for three three-year term seats for freeholder.

Democratic incumbents include Angel Estrada of Elizabeth and Christopher Hudak of Linden. Newcomer candidates include democrat Angela R. Garretson of Hillside and republicans Patricia Quattrocchi of Clark, P. Mark Martini of Westfield and Peter B. Lijoi of Summit.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

• First Ward

Districts 1, 2 and 3: Roosevelt Intermediate School Gym, 302 Clark St.

District 4 and 6: Westfield Memorial Library Program Room, 550 East Broad St.

Districts 5 and 7: Roosevelt Intermediate School Gym, 302 Clark St.

• Second Ward

District 1: County of Union Administrative Building, 300 North Ave.

Districts 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6: Washington Elementary School Auditorium, 900 St. Marks Ave.

• Third Ward

District 1: Westfield Rescue Squad, 335 Watterson St.

Districts 2, 3 and 4: Edison Intermediate School Gym 800 Rahway Ave.

Districts 5, 6 and 7: Westfield High School, 550 Dorian Road

• Fourth Ward

District 1 and 2: Edison Intermediate School Gym, 800 Rahway Ave.

Districts 3, 4 and 5: Westfield High School, 550 Dorian Road
