Westfield High School Marching Band Plans Community Car Wash

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield High School's Marching Blue Devils will hold a community car wash fundraiser on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at two school locations in town.

The fundraiser is scheduled from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in the parking lots at Westfield High School and Edison Intermediate School.

Community members are invited to bring vehicles for a wash, and bicycles will also be accepted.

The event will support students in the Westfield High School marching band as they prepare for the upcoming marching band season.

All proceeds will go directly to the marching band program and will help offset a range of seasonal expenses tied to the group's performance schedule.

"Our students are working incredibly hard, and the funds raised will provide resources and opportunities that enhance their marching band experience. We greatly appreciate the support of the Westfield community," said band director Chris Vitale.

According to the announcement, the fundraiser will help cover costs including travel, equipment, instruments, uniforms, competition entry fees and other expenses associated with the band's busy season.
