Westfield High School Model UN Earns Award At Conference
The students won the Outstanding Delegation Award at a conference in Hershey, PA last month.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield High School’s Model United Nations Club won the Outstanding Delegation Award for excelling in all parts of the annual conference of the YMCA Model UN Program, held in Hershey, PA from Jan. 3 through Jan. 5. One hundred seventy-five Westfield students joined approximately 2,000 students from the MidAtlantic region at the conference.
“The students participated in wide ranging debates that were the culmination of months of research and preparation,” said Daniel Farabaugh, co-adviser of the WHS Model UN along with David Della Fera.

- Samuel Broaddus and Catherine Collins, acknowledged for an Outstanding First Year.
- Jonathan Grossman, Rohan Jonsson, Shirzad Mustafa, and Alex Weinberg received recognition for Outstanding Country Research Paper.
- Caroline Gallagher and Henry Stewart were selected to attend the Conference on National Affairs, a two-week conference in North Carolina attended by representatives from all 50 states.
Officers for this year’s conference were Justin Anderson, Julia Colleran, Brad Hornbeck, Jordan Horowitz,Olivia Conti, Erik Mordkovich, Adam Schwartz, and Brianna Vaca.
Officers chosen to plan, organize and run committees for next year’s conference are Justin Anderson, Dylan Berger, Jordan Horowitz, Nathan Lechner, and Erik Modkovich.
