Westfield HS Students Tour Forensic Laboratory At The Nation’s Capital

Students also met with members of Congressman Thomas Kean Jr's staff in Washington, D.C. for a Q&A session.

WESTFIELD, NJ — A visit to the Homeland Security Investigations Forensic Laboratory and a Q&A session with members of Rep. Thomas Kean Jr’s staff were among the highlights for Westfield High School students during a recent field trip to Washington, D.C.

The trip was organized by retired Westfield detective Ron Allen, executive director of the Westfield Police Athletic League (PAL) and WHS teacher Gail Alston, PAL Coordinator for the WHS Mentoring and Tutoring Program.

Unable to attend the national PAL conference held during the summer, the students traveled to the nation’s capital on Oct. 3 and 4, where they also visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
