Westfield Irish Dancers Compete in Boston’s World Championships
The 2013 gathering marks just the second time in 40 years that the World Championships – considered the "Olympics" of Irish Dance – have been held outside of Ireland or Scotland.
Westfield’s own DeNogla School of Irish Dance sent over fifty dancers to the Irish Dancing World Championships in Boston last week. Westfield residents Grace Cook, Abby Liptack, Hayley Luerssen, Meredith Luerssen, Samantha Merritt, Isabella Salerno and Haley Sharlow spent their spring break taking part in the global event, which drew over six thousand competitors to the eight-day event from as far away as Brazil and South Africa.

The DeNogla School is located at 100 Elmer Street. Now in its 20th year, DeNogla has seven locations throughout New Jersey, including Berkeley Heights and Verona. For more information on in-town classes contact Bernadette Kelly at 908-531-6466.
