Westfield Library now offers LinkedIn Learning to Cardholders

(May 2, 2022)-Westfield Memorial Library is now offering residents free access to LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com), which offers more than 16,000 courses taught by industry experts on business, software, technology, creative skills, and more.

“LinkedIn Learning provides high-quality courses that help entrepreneurs, job seekers, and lifelong learners achieve their goals,” said Allen McGinley, Library Director. “With online learning becoming one of the most popular tools for career advancement, we are happy to play a role in the personal and professional development of the Westfield community.”

While individual subscriptions to LinkedIn Learning otherwise cost up to $39.99 per month, this service will be free to Westfield library cardholders. Users do not need a LinkedIn profile to use the resource.

The expert-led courses range from more general topics like Building Resilience, and Managing Stress for Positive Change, to more specific topics including Accounting, Adobe Photoshop, Data Analysis, UX Design, and Front-End Web Development.

Courses can be accessed from any device at any time and are conveniently split into short videos. LinkedIn Learning also features a dedicated mobile app so users can learn anywhere.

LinkedIn Learning is available to those who live, work, or go to school in Westfield with a valid, up-to-date library card.

Currently the library hours are Monday - Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; and Sunday 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Curbside service continues for full-service library cardholders during those same hours every day, except Sunday.

To place an order, patrons should log into their account and place a hold on the book(s) they would like. Materials will be ready inside the library the day after the order is placed (with the exception of orders placed on Saturday. They are available on Monday).
