Westfield Locals Talk Politics, Stickers, Voting Booth Lines
We asked you about your voting experience and readers shared how long they waited, who they voted for and general opinion of the election

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield residents came out in droves to vote in the election on Tuesday night.
Here is a timeline on voter experiences in Westfield:
6:20 a.m. - "I voted at the library waited for 20 mins. Lines were longer much more than ever before. Everyone was civil but one young woman 30-35 was filling out a ballot I guess a recent transplant. She complained the ballot was very confusing seemed pretty intelligent, so seems it had veracity. I thought this ejection was equally polarizing on local and national election level. I hope we all can repair the damage starting tomorrow. As far as who I voted for, Trump Pence. Locally, I cast my vote for the candidate with honesty and integrity. I'm sure you can figure that out yourself." said Rich Duthie

7:45 a.m. - "The lines were definitely much longer than usual and a little slow. Maybe for presidential elections they can bring in more voting booths," said Kristen Carrero.
10 a.m. - "Voted at the library. There was a long line with probably over an hour wait. Fortunately I am from a different district that had no line. I am happy that I had spent time talking with others before today and voted no on #2. I also voted for Jill Stein for president. I expect to see. Trump victory. I am hopeful that prop 64 passes in CA. I am thinking that we will see a record number of voters. Too bad we had such bad choices!" said John Carpenter.

3 p.m. - "I actually experienced a bit of voter intimidation today at the Westfield High School. A group of firemen and police officers were standing outside the high school, saw me and my 12 year old daughter get out of our car (that had a Hillary magnet on it) and said, 'Oh look! Here comes some Hillary people!' I took my daughter's hand, walked across the street right near them and said, 'Damn, right,' " said Katy Engel.
4 p.m. - "I voted at Edison at there wasn't a very short wait to actually vote and none to check in. It looked packed based on all the cars in the lot but they were for sports. It was a smooth process." said Kelly Farrell-Werder.
