Westfield Memorial Library now has Niche Academy Demos to show patrons how to use e-services, databases and social media
Westfield Library patrons can learn how to use the library's e-services and databases through the new easy-to-use Niche Academy demo's
(June 12, 2017) – The Westfield Memorial Library is pleased to announce that Niche Academy is now available on the library’s website
The demos are short and targeted to explain the process simply, step-by-step.
They teach patrons how to use e-resources such as: Freading, which has e-books; Overdrive or elibraryNJ, which provides e-audiobooks; One Click Digital, which has e-books and e-audiobooks; Zinio, which provides magazines; and Hoopla, which has movies, TV, comics, e-audiobooks, e-books and music.

The library also had demos for some of their databases such as: Rosetta Stone (languages), Morningstar (investments) and Ancestry (genealogy).
The demos are accessed in three different ways through the website www.wmlnj.org. Users should click on the Digital Access tab on the home page and choose what the content they want to download i.e. magazines, ebooks. After the image pops up, they should choose “View Tutorial.” Or, click on the Online Resources tab, then Online Databases and click on “Access Tutorials.”

Niche Academy demos can also be reached by clicking on the Featured Services link on the home page. These demos for social media teach patrons how to use Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, GoodReads, Snapchat and gmail.
Any reference librarian can help with these services as well.
The library is located at 550 East Broad Street. Founded in 1879, the Westfield Memorial Library—the community’s destination for discovery and ideas—engages minds, entertains spirits and facilitates lifelong learning for people of all ages.
Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. The library will be closed Sunday throughout the summer and on Tuesday, July 4 for Independence Day.
