Westfield Moves To Lease Historic Mills-Ferris-Pearsall House For Public Use
The ordinance would let Westfield lease the historic home from Vango Westfield LLC for tours, class trips and events.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield is moving forward with a lease agreement with Vango Westfield LLC for the Mills-Ferris-Pearsall House, an 18th-century home on property.
The Town Council adopted an ordinance authorizing the lease at its Tuesday meeting.
The lease is part of a Prospect + Ferris Redevelopment Plan to allow Vango Development to build a new 60-unit mixed-use, four-story building at 112 Ferris Pl. The project included securing the relocation and adaptive reuse of the Mills-Ferris-Pearsall House. The project broke ground in December.

The ordinance states that Vango, under the redevelopment agreement, is required to agree with a local and reputable nonprofit or governmental organization for cultural, civic and educational events in the historic home.
As a result, the ordinance authorizes a lease agreement with the Town of Westfield "to allow for site visits, historic tours, school class trips, public events, and similar educational, civic and cultural activities."
