Westfield Nabs Four Drunk Drivers Over Holiday Weekend

Authorities issued other summons during their 'targeted enforcement' spree.

Westfield, NJ - The Westfield Police Department made multiple arrests as part of its "targeted enforcement" over last holiday weekend which authorities said focused on “Driving Under the Influence.”

During the course of 55 hours of DUI enforcement, officers arrested three people for Driving Under the Influence, including one arrest that occurred within 1,000 feet of a school. The regular patrols also arrested someone for DUI, police said.

The Westfield Police Department did not release the names of those arrested.

In addition to the DUI arrests, some of the other summons that were issued by the DUI patrol officers:

  • Careless Driving - 2
  • Delaying Traffic - 1
  • Disregard of a Stop Sign - 1
  • Driving With a Suspended License - 2
  • Driving Without a License - 1
  • Failure to Observe Traffic Control Device - 1
  • Failure to Signal - 1
  • Improper Turn at a Marked Intersection - 1
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle While in Possession of Narcotics - 1
  • Unsafe Lane Change - 1
