Westfield Needs Police Dispatchers: See How To Apply

Westfield's finest is looking for someone to help coordinate their operations.

WESTFIELD, NJ - The Westfield Police Department is seeking a full-time dispatcher to help coordinate their operations.

According to authorities, a Police Dispatcher answers emergency and non-emergency phone calls and coordinates the response of law enforcement officers to crime and accident scenes. Police Dispatchers can sometimes provide assistance to officers by answering queries about things like drivers license or warrant information.

The Applicant must:

  • be at least 18 years of age.
  • have a High School Diploma or the equivalent
  • will be subject to a background investigation and must be of good moral character.
  • must be able to multitask while using radios, telephones and sophisticated computer systems.
  • must be willing to work 10-hour shifts on weekends, holidays, days and nights.
  • will be subject to mandatory overtime as needed.
  • must successfully complete an in-house training program.

Preference will be given to applicants who are 911 and EMD certified.

Applicants meeting the above requirements can pick up an application in person at the Westfield Police Department, 425 E. Broad St., Westfield, NJ 07090.

Applicants are being asked to submit copies of any applicable training certificates and/or a resume with your application.
