Several Vehicle Break-Ins In Westfield

Here are some recent items handled by the Westfield Police Department.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Here are some recent cases reported by the Westfield Police Department. All of the information is according to police:

Sept. 7, 10:26 a.m.: A resident of Clark Street told police that while their vehicle was parked in their driveway and unlocked, an unknown person entered it. No items were stolen but someone rifled through the vehicle. The person also tried to gain entry to a second vehicle in the driveway, but it was locked.

Sept. 7, 10:44 a.m.: A resident of West North Avenue reported that an unknown person entered their vehicle while parked and unlocked in their driveway, and stole the person's wallet. The person used credit cards to make fraudulent purchases at a business in a nearby town, including one for $300.

Sept. 8, 11:58 a.m.: A resident of Cowperthwaite Place said their unlocked vehicle was entered by an unknown person while parked in their unlocked detached garage. The person didn't take anything.

Sept. 12, 2:37 p.m.: Police said that after a motor vehicle crash on South and Central avenues, a 21-year-old Orange woman was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and possession of prescription drugs without a script. She was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters, where she was processed and released on a summons.
