Westfield Police Need A Dispatcher. You Up For the Job?

The Westfield Police Department is accepting applications through July 31.

WESTFIELD, NJ - Those looking for a career and an opportunity to assist Westfield's Finest have the opportunity to do so as a police dispatcher.

The applicant must:

  • be at least 18 years of age.
  • have a High School Diploma or the equivalent
  • will be subject to a background investigation and must be of good moral character.
  • must be able to multitask while using radios, telephones and sophisticated computer systems.
  • must be willing to work 10 to 12 hour shifts on weekends, holidays, days and nights.
  • will be subject to mandatory overtime as needed.
  • must successfully complete an in-house training program.

Preference will be given to applicants who are 911 and EMD certified, police said.

Applicants meeting the above requirements can pick up an application in person at the Westfield Police Department, 425 E. Broad St., Westfield, NJ 07090. Those applying should submit copies of any applicable training certificates and/or a resume with the application.

Deadline for application submissions is 5 p.m. on July 31.
