Westfield Police Respond To Woman Sleeping In Stranger's Vehicle

The Westfield police said when they found the woman asleep in a stranger's motor vehicle a week ago, she said she was "looking for shelter."

WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield police said that on Saturday, Sept. 25, they responded to the 400 block of West North Avenue on a report of defiant trespass and unlicensed entry of structure.

Upon arrival at 6:52 a.m., they found a New York woman, 37, "sleeping in an unlocked motor vehicle."

Police said that the "suspect stated she was looking for shelter."

The woman was given a summons, released, and transported to Rahway Hospital for treatment, police said.
