Westfield's A.J. Murray Stuns Crowd With Late-Game Homer

Murray's ninth-inning home run tied it up for Georgia Tech.

Westfield baseball phenom A.J. Murray is still covering himself with glory. With two outs in the top of the ninth inning, the 20 year old hit a home run over the Blue Monster at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park Wednesday afternoon to bring his Georgia Tech team back from behind as they took on Florida State as play began at the 2013 ACC Championship.

Murray's bomb tied up the game and, thanks to teammate Matt Hyde following suit with a homer of his own, Georgia Tech stunned the crowd with a win.

The Westfield High School class of 2011 graduate was drafted by the Houston Astros his senior class but while he said it was "an honor," decided to forego the opportunity to pursue both his undergraduate degree and a competitive baseball program at his first choice school, Georgia Tech.
