Westfield School Administrator Honored For Service
Business Administrator (BA)/Board Secretary Dana Sullivan awarded a 2019 Distinguished Service Award.
WESTFIELD, NJ - Westfield Public School District Business Administrator (BA)/Board Secretary Dana Sullivan has been honored by the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials (NJASBO) with a 2019 Distinguished Service Award for her long-term, continuous exemplary service.
As part of the award, Sullivan will have the honor of presenting a $1,000 scholarship
from NJASBO to a student in the Westfield Public School District.
Among just four 2019 Distinguished Service Award recipients statewide, Sullivan has
served as BA/Board Secretary for Westfield Public Schools since 2012. Previously, she
served in the same role for Montclair Public Schools from 1997 to 2012.

“I am pleased, but not at all surprised, that Mrs. Sullivan has received this prestigious recognition,” said Superintendent Dr. Margaret Dolan. “Her fiscal stewardship, sage advice and steady hand have been at the forefront of many of the district’s most successful initiatives.”
Westfield Board of Education President Peggy Oster praised Sullivan as a leader who
consistently provides “sound and seasoned guidance.”

“The fact that Mrs. Sullivan’s colleagues have honored her with this award speaks
volumes about her experience and impeccable character,” said Oster.
Sullivan currently serves as the Chairman of the Education Committee for NJASBO and
as a trustee for the New Jersey Schools Insurance Group (NJSIG), a joint insurance
fund provided to member school districts.
NJASBO is a professional association that promotes the highest standards of ethics and
efficiency, provides its membership with professional development and support, and
collaborates with entities that affect public education. The organization comprises
individuals who administer or supervise a variety of operations within the school district.
Examples include accounting, budgeting, data processing, environmental issues, food
service management, maintenance, negotiations, payroll, purchasing and
transportation.
