Westfield School Board Candidates Night Wednesday

The event will be moderated by the League of Women voters.

WESTFIELD, NJ - The Westfield Parent Teacher Council (PTC) is inviting the public to attend Candidates Night from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday in the Westfield High School auditorium.

Five Westfield residents are seeking election to three Board of Education positions:

Michael Bielen
Andrew Bauer
Patrick Justin Fahey
Brendan Galligan
Amy Root

Additionally, Robert Garrison is running unopposed to fill a vacancy for a two-year term and Brian Morrissey is running unopposed to fill a vacancy for a one-year term.

The evening will be moderated by Lisa Winkler and the League of Women Voters. Each candidate will have two minutes to make a brief opening statement and two minutes to make a closing statement. The five candidates running for full term positions will be asked a variety of questions which will be gathered from the public prior to that evening. Questions may be submitted to ptc@westfieldnjk12.org through Tuesday. Questions will be compiled and considered on relevance and time allotted. A few questions also will be taken from the floor the night of the event. Response time for questions will be 60 seconds and 90 seconds.

The election for the Westfield Board of Education will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
