Westfield School Calendar For 2024-25: Key Dates To Know

WESTFIELD, NJ — Summer is almost over for Westfield students. The first day of school in Westfield Town School District is Thursday, Sept. 5.

Elementary schools include Franklin, Jefferson, McKinley, Tamaques, Washington and Wilson. These schools house students from 1st through 5th grade.

Edison and Roosevelt Intermediate Schools include grades 6 and 8. The Westfield High School includes grades 9 through 12.

Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

• Start date: Tuesday, Sept. 4
• Rosh Hashanah: Thursday, Oct. 3 and Friday, Oct. 4(Closed)
• Indigenous Peoples’ Day/Staff In-service Day: Monday, Oct. 14(Closed)
• Early Dismissal: Tuesday, Nov. 5 and Wednesday, Nov. 6
• NJEA Convention: Thursday, Nov.7 and Friday, Nov. 8(Closed)
• Parent-Teacher Conference Days(Pre-K to 5th Grade Schools Only) Half Days: Monday, Nov. 18 and Tuesday, Nov. 19
• Thanksgiving break: Wednesday, Nov. 27(half day), Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29
• Winter break: Friday, Dec. 20(half day), Monday, Dec. 23 through Wednesday, Jan. 1
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday, Jan. 20(Closed)
• Presidents Day Weekend: Friday, Feb. 14 and Monday, Feb. 17
• Staff In-Service, Early Dismissal: Friday, March 7
• Spring break: Monday, April 14 through Monday, April 21
• Memorial Day: Monday, May 26
• Students Early Dismissal: Monday, June 23
• Last Day For Students/ Westfield High School Graduation: Tuesday, June 24(Half Day)

There are three days built into the calendar for emergency closing. Should extra days be needed, they will be added to the calendar in this order: Feb. 14, April 14, and April 15. If these three days are not needed, schools may close on May 23, May 27, and May 28 in that order.
