Westfield Voter Guide 2021: Who's Running, When To Vote

WESTFIELD, NJ — The general election is only a few weeks away, and Union County residents will be able to cast their votes on state and local races.

This year, there are three ways to vote, and a number of decisions to make, including an election for governor.

Here's what to know ahead of this year's elections:

• Election date: Nov. 2

Who And What Are On The Westfield Ballot?

• Governor's race: Gov. Murphy is running for reelection this year against Republican Jack Ciattarelli, Madelyn Hoffman (Green Party), Gregg Mele (Libertarian) and Joanne Kuniansky (Socialist Workers Party).
• 21st District State Senate: In New Jersey's 21st Legislative District, Republican Assemblyman John Bramnick faces Democratic Roselle Mayor Joseph Signorello III for the spot.
• Assembly: Democrats Elizabeth A. Graner and Anjali Mehrotra face Republicans Michele Matskioudis and Nancy Muñoz. Voters can choose any two.

• Westfield Mayor And Council: Incumbent Mayor Shelley Brindle and her slate of four Democratic incumbent council candidates will face off in November against Republican mayoral candidate JoAnne Neylan, a former councilwoman, and her slate of four Republican council candidates. Where And How To Vote

In-person early voting:

Early voting locations in Union County will be open from Oct. 23 to Oct. 31, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Find out more here. And see the list of seven locations in Union County to vote early here.

In-person on election day:

Voting will be available at regular polling locations in 2021. The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to
8 p.m. Specific polling locations will be listed on sample ballots, but can also be found here.

Mail-in ballot and drop boxes:

Generally, vote-by-mail applications must be received by mail at least seven days before the election. But Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi reminds voters who wish to use a Vote-by-Mail ballot that they can apply for one in person at the County Clerk's offices in Westfield and Elizabeth. They can also fill out their ballot during the same visit and cast it in a secure drop-off box at the office, or take it with them to fill out later. Find out more here.
