'Westfield Watcher' House Immortalized In Gingerbread Contest

The infamous Westfield landmark can be voted for in the town-wide gingerbread contest. Polls close Dec. 31.

WESTFIELD, NJ - Edison School, the Rialto Theater, the train station and even the infamous Westfield Watcher house are among the many confectionary creations being judged as part of Westfield's first town-wide gingerbread house contest.

Residents can vote on their favorite entry, town landmark or not, through Dec. 31. Winners will be announced on New Year's Day 2019 and prizes given out at the Jan. 4 Town Council Re-Organization meeting.

Voters are asked to cast one vote in each category:

  • Under 14 Kid's Only Effort
  • Family/Group Effort
  • Iconic Building
  • Grand Prize - Best in all Categories

According to organizers, in the event the same house wins multiple categories the next highest vote count will win the next category. The category of a gingerbread creation was specified by the submitter. Prizes to the bakers will include trophies and gifts from Westfield businesses.

Organizers also noted that votes only count once. As noted in the rules, duplicate votes from the same IP address will be purged.
