"Cosmetic work on the outside including the rebuilding of the parapet will continue through the rest of the fall and the decorative panels that were made out of terracotta in the 1920s are being made out of a special composite concrete," said Galligan.

The cosmetic work is being done on all sides of the building and the decorative panels should be delivered in the coming weeks or months. The anticipation is for the Clark Street side to be completed by the end of the calendar year.

"We are looking at ways to add the spires back to the parapet if possible without drilling any holes that would comprise the waterproof envelope," said Galligan, who added the district has been working with the Town and engineer to see if it is feasible.

The project to restore the masonry work on the exterior of the school at 301 Clark St. is being done in phases.

Work is expected to continue throughout the school year and into the next summer.
